Hockey: Oman confirmed hosts of Asian Champions Trophy

Muscat: With the Oman Hockey Association (OHA) and Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the Sultanate have been confirmed as the hosts of the 2018 Asian Champions Trophy tournament.
The MoU was signed by the OHA chief Talib Al Wahaibi and AHF CEO Tayyab Ikram during a ceremony at the Tulip Inn in Al Khuwair on Monday
The six-nation tournament will take place in Muscat in October this year.
During the ceremony, OHA chief Talib Al Wahaibi also revealed the list of other international events to be organised in Oman this year.
The Sultanate have already been confirmed as the hosts of 2018 Asian Games Hockey Qualifier.
The Asian Games Qualifier will take place from March 2 to March 10 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
The 2018 Asiad will be organised in Indonesia from August 18 to September 2.
The OHA is also gearing up to host a four-nation invitational tournament, involving Oman, Pakistan, Japan and Malaysia, from February 14 to 18.
Meanwhile, Oman national team will also take part in a friendly tournament in Hong Kong from February 6 to 12.
