Voting for elections to the board of OCCI today

Muscat: Voting for elections to the board of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Boards of its branches for 2018-2022 will be held today.
Polling will take place at the designated centres from 8am to 6pm. The OCCI Elections Committee said that the polling centres have been provided with all necessary supplies and personnel to conduct voting. Polling and vote counting will be done electronically to ensure accuracy in the process and timely results.
Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dhib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and chairman of OCCI Elections Committee said that the members of OCCI Board must hold their first Board Meeting at OCCI headquarters within seven days from the final results of the elections.
The meeting would be chaired by the eldest board member to elect from among them the chairman, two vice-chairmen and two other members for the Executive Committee, he said.
The meeting would also appoint the secretary and elect members of the Audit Committee and the Investment Committee from among members of who are not elected to the Executive Committee as per Article 23 of Royal Decree No. 45/2017.
The OCCI Board would comprise five members from Muscat Governorates in addition to the Chairpersons of Boards of OCCI Branches in the Governorates.
