Oman’s Al Fairuz re-elected ITPF chief

Khasab: Oman’s Mohammed bin Issa Al Fairuz was re-elected chairman of the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF) for a four-year term on Saturday.
The experienced Omani official was elected as the chief of the ITPF unopposed during the General Assembly organised on the sidelines of the inaugural Tent Pegging Championship for Women being organised in Khasab.
Al Fairuz is the first elected chairman of the ITPF. The first executive committee of the ITPF was formed in 2013.
During the General Assembly, the ITPF also approved the membership of Poland and Kyrgyzstan, taking the number of federation’s affiliated members 34.
While also approving some amendments to the law of tent pegging and plans for next four years, the ITPF also confirmed the UAE as the hosts of the World Tent Pegging Championship, which is scheduled to be held later this year.
