Three arrested for poaching in Oman

Muscat: Three poachers were arrested for hunting Arabian ibex, a desert-dwelling goat species, in Dhofar, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) announced.

In a statement MECA said, “In cooperation with Royal Oman Police and a number of citizens, wildlife observers in Dhofar Governorate arrested three people. The three hunted seven Arabian ibex in the village of Dimit in the Wilayat of Shalim and Hallaniyat Islands."

The defendants were referred to the concerned authorities who will take legal action against them.
