OCCI to organise seminar on Islamic banking

The seminar will discuss various working papers that address the investment opportunities of the Islamic Banks, and Islamic Banking and the local economic development.

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Financial, Banking and Insurance Committee, will organise a seminar on Islamic banking at Sheraton Hotel Oman on Tuesday.

Titled “Direct Economic Development”, the function will be held under the patronage of Tahir bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).

The seminar will discuss various working papers that address the investment opportunities of the Islamic Banks, and Islamic Banking and the local economic development.

It will include a discussion on the impact of awareness among individuals and institutions on Islamic financial instruments, the Islamic finance cycle - Islamic banks - in the management of economic crises, the change of the credit rating of the Sultanate and its impact on development plans, diversification of sources of financial income for Islamic banks.
