Muscat: Three thousand arrowheads and 10 snake carvings were found in Adam in Ad Dakhiliyah governorate by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture officials, in cooperation with French mission.
The Ministry of Heritage and Culture along with French mission from the Sorbonne University headed by Dr. Geum Gerd, discovered 3,000 arrow heads and 10 snake models likely to be religious symbols at the site of Al Madhmar in the Wilayat of Adam.
Two semi-complete pottery urns and a large number of pottery fragments were discovered at the site. The team continues archaeological research at the site to understand the beliefs, culture and activities of the Iron Age communities settled in the Wilayat
of Adam.
It should be noted that the site dates back to the first millennium BC, and has a unique collection of copper and bronze weapons.
