RHRC all set to host Oman Derby

Muscat: The Royal Horse Racing Club (RHRC) is all set to host the Oman Derby race with the participation of international riders and horses.
The Oman Derby is scheduled to take place at Al Rahba Race Course in Barka on Friday.
Brig. Abdulrazaq bin Abdul Qadir Al Shahwarzi, Commander of the Royal Cavalry, declared the Royal Horse Racing Club’s readiness to host a successful event.
“The Royal Horse Racing Club is preparing well to host a successful Oman Derby on Friday,” he said.
He also informed that the Derby will be held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Fahar bin Fatik Al Said.
Top Arabian and thoroughbred horses of the current season will take part in Oman Derby, which is one of the most prominent classic races in Oman.
Meanwhile, Brig. Abdulrazaq, who is also general supervisor of horse races, said that the raceday will include eight races.
1st race: for pure Arabian horses (1200m).
2nd race: for pure Arabian horses (1600m).
3rd race: for thoroughbreds (1600m).
4th race: for top thoroughbreds (1600m).
5th race: for pure Arabians (1600m) on HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup ( IFAHR), with international riders.
6th race: for top Arabians Cups (1600m) .
7th race: for pure Arabians on HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup (IFAHR), with international riders.
8th race: Oman Derby Race ( 2000m).
