IBN Blasters rode on excellent all-round show by Vibin Panaparambil to hand Al Siraj Holdings an embarrassing nine-wicket thrashing in an I Division game at OAC Ground III in Al Seeb.

Asked to bat first, Al Siraj had a miserable outing, folding up for a paltry 79 in the 16th over. Hariharan Algirisamy topscored with 17 off 15 balls. Vibin Panaparambil bowled exceptionally with the new ball, taking two wickets for 11 runs in his four-over spell. Six other bowlers bagged one wicket each.

Anu Amal lifts Sohar

In an Al Turki-sponsored Women’s League match, Anu Amal slammed an impressive 51 off 33 balls to guide Women’s Cricket Sohar to an exciting 21-run win against Indian Social Club (ISC) Women at Ministry of Sports (MOS) Ground II in Al Amerat.

Invited to bat first, Women’s Cricket Sohar posted 146 for four on the board in 20 overs. Apart from Anu, Sakshi Shetty (28 off 30) and Wilma Priya Dsouza (21 off 32) were the other main contributors.

Happily placed at 63 for one in the 11th over, ISC suddenly lost some quick wickets as well as the momentum to lose their grip on the match. In the end, 125 for seven was all it could manage in its quota of 20 overs. Geetha Jagdish (25 off 40) and Mouna Monappa (22 off 20) were the only notable scorers.

Bowling brilliantly, Vrishab ran through the PSM side claiming six wickets for just 17 runs in 8.2 overs, three of which were maidens.
