Muscat bourse edges up

Muscat: The MSM30 Index remained stable at 5,089.48 points with marginal gain of 0.04 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 717.77 points, up by 0.10 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat led in terms of turnover. With a gain of 2.41 per cent, Oman & Emirates Holding was the top gainer while Renaissance Services, down by 7.10 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 556 trades were executed on Sunday, generating a turnover of OMR1.46 million with 7.64 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded securities, 8 advanced, 10 declined, and 11 remained unchanged. GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR217,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR51,000 while Omani investors switched to net sellers for OMR699,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index retreated by 0.06 per cent to close at 7,537.72 points. Oman & Emirates Holding, Bank Muscat, Alizz Islamic Bank and Taageer Finance gained 2.41 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 0.82 per cent, respectively. Vision Insurance, NBO, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa and United Finance declined by 2.08 per cent, 1.50 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.73 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,808.04 points, down by 0.11 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramics, Al Maha Ceramics and Gulf International Chemicals gained 1.64 per cent, 1.40 per cent and 0.41 per cent, respectively. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering lost 3.31 per cent and 1.35 per cent, respectively.
Services Index declined by 0.86 per cent to close at 2,629.78 points. MCDE, up by 1.27 per cent, was the only gainer. Renaissance Services, National Gas and OIFC declined by 7.10 per cent, 2.33 per cent and 2.16 per cent, respectively.
