Pakistan ambassador honours prominent Omani citizens

Muscat: Ali Javed, Pakistan’s ambassador to Oman, hosted ‘Civil Societies Dialogue’, an interactive, full spectrum initiative launched in 2016, over a luncheon at the Pakistan House and awarded Certificates of Excellence to honour Omani nationals for services in promoting bilateral understanding and friendship.
The ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the guests for contributing to Islamic Solidarity Magazine, the special edition of which, entitled “National Day of Oman”, was simultaneously released in both the capitals in December, in Urdu and Arabic. The ambassador appreciated Ameer Hamza, editor of the magazine, and an enterprising young Pakistani residing in Muscat, for promoting intellectual exchanges and celebrating the National Day of Oman via the special edition of the magazine.
The recipients of the certificates included, Sheikh Hatim Al Taie, Member State Council and chairman Al Roya Group; Dr Saeed Al Mamari, advisor Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs; Mohamed Issa Al Zadjali, Chairman Muscat Media Group; Eman bint Rashid Al Ghafriyah, chairperson, Omani Women’s Association; Maryam Zadjali, president Omani Society of Fine Arts; Awad bin Saeed Baquwair, chairman Oman Journalist Association; Shaikh Said Saqlawi, president Oman Society for Writers and Literati; Dr Muhammad Al Zaini, professor of Philosophy; Dr Sulaiman Al Hussani, writer; Abdullah Abri, Deputy Dean, Faculty Of Law, SQU; Dr Muhammad Al Harthi, Sultan Qaboos Centre for Culture and Science; Dr Tahira Al Lwatiyah, writer-columnist; Sheikha Sarah Ali Albrakyah, poet-columnist; Shaikh Hilal Hassan Al Lawati, intellectual; Dr Saif Al Hadi, anchor-writer; Salim Al Jahwari, senior journalist and editor, Oman Daily; and Ameer Hamza.
The platform, ‘Civil Societies Dialogue’, was conceived by Ambassador Ali Javed.
This year’s theme was “Peace for Prosperity,” while in 2016 the inaugural session was themed “Commonality of Strategic Vision.”
