Oman Cricket: Sajjad stars as PTI down Al Turki

Muscat: Muhammed Sajjad Ali slammed a scintillating century to power Passage to India (PTI) to a feel-good 49-run victory against NMC Al Turki Enterprises in a Muscat Pharmacy-sponsored Premier Division game at Ministry of Sports Ground I in Al Amerat on Friday.
Invited to bat first, PTI posted a big total on the board, scoring 299 for five in 50 overs with Sajjad hitting a strokeful 144 studded with 12 towering sixes. Zeeshan Siddiqui (50 off 43) and Syed Aamir Kaleem (33 not out off 17) were the other main scorers.
Jigneshbhai Patel bagged two wickets for Al Turki.
Al Turki’s chase got off to a tricky start as they lost two quick wickets before recovering to reach 63 for two in 15 overs. Losing wickets at regular intervals, Al Turki slimped to 100 for four and then to 134 for six by the 29th over. In the end, Jigneshbhai Patel (49 off 58) and Adnan-ul Haq (22 not out off 31) failed to take their side across the rope, falling short 49 runs.
