Muscat: The sixth race of the Muscat Road Runners Avis Winter Series witnessed a thrilling close finish in Bausher on Saturday with two runners completing the race in the same. Edward Black and Flash Gordon, after overcoming a stiff competition in a field of 72 participants, finished the race in the same time, covering the 16km race in one hour, three minutes and 16 seconds (1:03:16).
The duo were duly declared the joint overall winners by the organisers.
Jerome Duboe, who clocked 1:06:50, finished third overall.
Asta Parker emerged the winner of women’s race in 1:09:58 and her time was good enough to finish seventh overall.
The winner of the Junior 3km race was James in a time of 16:39. Ronan finished second in 17:28 and Lucy third in 17:38.
