Migrants held over labour law violations

Muscat: Twenty-four migrants have been arrested in Al Musannah over labour law violations, according to the Royal Oman Police.
An official source in ROP said: "The police command at South Batinah and security attache from various police formations carried out a security campaign to arrest violators in Al Musannah."
The source added: "The campaign resulted in the arrest of 24 violators to the labour and residency laws. They have been referred to the judicial authorities."
52 arrested and 142 infiltrators deported last week
Teams also arrested 52 illegal migrants and another 142 were deported, according to authorities.
"According to the statistics issued by the Department of Intrusion Prevention Department of the General Operations, last week, In cooperation with the other military and security forces arrested 52 infiltrators of different nationalities in a number of states of the Sultanate, to enter the country illegally.
"Statistics indicated that 142 were deported infiltrators after taking legal action and coordinating with the embassies of their respective countries," ROP announced.
