Two expats held in Oman for drugs offences

Muscat: Two expatriates were arrested for possession of drugs in Bausher, Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported.
An ROP spokesman said: "The Directorate General for the Control of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances managed to arrest two Asian nationals on charges of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking and abuse, and seized 68 capsules and rounds of heroin drug."
Legal proceedings have been taken against the accused and judicial authorities will complete the investigation.
ROP called on all citizens and residents to cooperate in combating the drug scourge and to inform the police of any information that helps detect drug smugglers and drug traffickers by calling 9999, toll free number 1444 or at the nearest police station.
