Video: Omani football fans injured in Kuwait stadium flown home

Kuwait City/Muscat: A number of Omanis who were injured during the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup final at the Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad Stadium in Kuwait City were flown out on Saturday evening on a state-owned plane on Saturday evening, according to Kuwait's official news agency.

In a video released by the agency, the fans can be seen boarding the aircraft and seemingly in good health.

"Very few remain in need of treatment for another day or two. Others require simple surgery, so they will stay in Kuwait until their health is stabilised," Anas Al Saleh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs has said.

"The Government of Kuwait has taken on the role to manage the Gulf Cup and organize all logistics, and thus is taking care of who have suffered injuries, provided comprehensive health care and comfortable accommodation, thanks to the leadership of Kuwait and its government and people," Dr. Adnan Al Ansari, the Sultanate's Ambassador to Kuwait also announced.
