29,000 attended Gulf Cup victory celebrations at Oman stadium

Muscat: More than 29,000 people attended the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup victory celebrations at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Saturday, January 6, according to the Ministry of Sports Affairs.

A statement from the ministry read, "The number of attendees for the the reception of our heroes at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher (added up to) more than 29,000, where we celebrated the stars of our national football team."

Oman defeated the United Arab Emirates 5-4 on penalties in Kuwait on Friday to garner Gulf Cup glory for the second time in the history of the championship.
