Dhofar to host Oman Environment Day activities

Salalah: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, will celebrate the Omani Environment Day, which falls on January 8 each year under the theme of “Sustainable Clean Environment”.
The celebration will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Salalah and includes an operetta that includes a variety of traditional Omani arts, plays, as well as a scientific symposium on the environment and an awareness exhibition.
The ceremony will include several programmes and activities, including cleaning campaigns for beaches, coral reefs and valleys in the Governorate of Dhofar, as well as the cultivation of a range of wild and local plants and awareness programs for children. The celebration of the Omani Environment Day continues until the end of January to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and preserving its natural resources.
