Child protection is everyone’s duty, says Oman ministry

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Social Development has called on residents to contact their child protection hotline service to report child abuse.

In an announcement posted this morning, the ministry said: “Don’t hesitate to contact the child protection hotline (1100) in case you know of the following: children exposed to violence or abuse or neglect, children not enrolled in education, children who didn’t receive the immunisation that is prescribed for them, and children begging alone or with adults. Child protection is the responsibility of all.”

Oman’s child protection hotline is a free hotline which works 24 hours, is committed to confidentiality and respects the caller by offering to hide his/her identity.

To reach out to the Ministry of Social Development’s child protection hotline, please call 1100.
