Five tourism projects set to be transferred to Omran

Muscat: The Ministry of Tourism will sign an agreement today for transferring five projects to Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) at the Ministry’s headquarters in the initial stage.
Maitha Saif Majid Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry will sign the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and the Chief Executive Officer, will sign on behalf of the Oman Tourism Development company.
This will come within the framework of the executive steps to segregate the legislative and executive role in tourism sector. The Ministry of Tourism will look into legislation and plan related to the development of tourism sector and Oman Tourism Development Company will execute the tourism development plans.
It is to be mentioned that the projects which will be transferred to Oman Tourism Development company as initial step are Ras Al Jinz, Al Hoota Cave and Al Owayfia Resort, Al Ashkhra Resort and Salalah Resort.
The team work will complete transfer of the remaining projects to Oman Tourism Development Company within the coming periods in batches.
