Are you planning to travel to Kuwait to watch Oman in the semis?

Muscat: Now that Oman are through to the semi-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup, you’re probably excited to see if the nation’s football team can go all the way to the finals.
Oman will play Bahrain in the semi-finals of the tournament on January 2 at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City, and the game will be broadcast on both BEIN Sports and Abu Dhabi Sports, as well as the Sultanate’s national channel, Oman TV. However, if you are among those who are planning to pack a bag and go watch Oman live in Kuwait, you’ve got some planning to do.
If you’re planning to fly to Kuwait City, Oman Air run flights to Kuwait every day, with the next flight scheduled for December 31. There’s no flight on the first of January, but services resume on the second.
Fans can also book their tickets on a special SalamAir flight to Kuwait City. The same-day return flight, which is priced at OMR89, departs Oman at 2:25 in the afternoon and arrives 90 minutes later. It departs Kuwait at 10pm that night and lands in Muscat at 1:15 early next morning.
Transportation to and from Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium, the venue of the game, is also provided by SalamAir.

Oman qualified for the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup after beating Saudi Arabia 2-0 and Kuwait 1-0, following a 1-0 defeat in their opening game against the United Arab Emirates, topping Group A in the process.
Bahrain finished second in Group B, following a 1-0 win over Yemen, as Iraq topped the group with a 2-1 win over Qatar.
Kuwait Airways also have a daily flight from Muscat to Kuwait City, which departs at 12:55 pm and arrives at 2:15.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer a brief stopover in Dubai and then head to Kuwait, Emirates fly from Muscat to Dubai, where passengers have to transit before travelling to Kuwait City. Gulf Air operate daily flights as well, as do Qatar Airways.
A similar option is available if you want to transit through Abu Dhabi as well, courtesy Etihad Airways.
If you’re looking for a cheaper option, both Air Arabia and Fly Dubai also operate flights to Kuwait City.
Once you land in Kuwait, should you need a place to stay, the closest hotel to the stadium is the Holiday Inn Kuwait Al Thuraya City. Priced at OMR89 a night, the hotel is just a 10-minute cab ride from the stadium, and is also located conveniently close to the airport.
If you’re looking for something that’s a bit easier on the pocket, though, you might want to try the City Tower Hotel. Although it is located a good half hour’s drive from the stadium, it only costs you about OMR51 a night.
Also, the Costa Del Sol Hotel out on Kuwait’s waterfront is a decent OMR48 a day, is 25 minutes away from the Jaber Al Ahmad stadium. Both games will take place the Jaber Al Ahmed International Stadium.
