Muscat: Temperatures have dropped to -5 degrees Celcius in the Al Hajar Mountain Range, according to Badar Al Baddaei, the owner of a local weather monitoring website, Rathth.net.

Oman's highest mountain range, Jebel Shams, recorded temperatures of -5 degrees on Tuesday, according to Al Baddaei. "It is really very cold at night," he added.
Jebel Shams, part of the Al Hajar Mountain range, is 3,004 metres above sea level, and has recorded temperatures as low as -8 degrees Celsius temperature in recent years.

In its 24-hour outlook, the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre said there will be clear to partly cloudy skies along parts of Oman coastal area and over the Al Hajar mountains with chances of isolated rain, and mainly clear skies over the rest of the Sultanate.
The sea will be rough along the coastal area of Dhofar with maximum wave hight of three metres and moderate along most of Oman's coast with maximum wave height of two metres.
