Bin Alawi receives EU Parliament delegation

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs received at the Foreign Ministry’s building on Monday a delegation from Oman Parliamentary Friendship Group in the European Union (EU) Parliament, led by Ramona Manescu, Head of the EU Oman Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The meeting reviewed means of enhancing the existing relations between the Sultanate and the EU and supporting the economic cooperation and commercial exchange between the two sides, as well as exchanging viewpoints and opinions on the regional and international issues and topics of common concern.
Bin Alawi stressed the importance of this visit in enhancing the bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the European countries, pointing out to the role being played by the EU-Oman Parliamentary Friendship Group in strengthening ties between the two sides. On her turn, Manescu expressed her delight and that of her accompanying delegation to visit the Sultanate, hailing the Sultanate’s civilisational renaissance achieved in various fields. She expressed her hope that the visit will achieve its desired goals in enhancing cooperation between the Sultanate and the EU.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Badriya bint Ibrahim Al Shihiyah, member of the State Council and Najeem bin Sulaiman Al Abri, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the EU.
