Mostly clear skies in Oman from today

Muscat: Skies are expected to be clear in most places by Tuesday, Oman’s Meteorological Department said on Monday.
The weather maps show a gradual decline of the cloudy weather from Tuesday onwards, and sea waves on the Sultanate coast are likely to be moderate, with a maximum height of two metres.
During the past three days, most of the Sultanate’s governorates have witnessed heavy rainfall and overflowing wadis.
Some meteorological stations recorded rainfall of 113mm. Liwa recorded 76mm rainfall, while Shinas received 63mm.

Several initiatives were taken by municipalities to overcome the issues triggered by rising water levels due to rain.
Jalan Bani Bu Ali Municipality has got rid of the water collected in the residential villages, while Sur Municipality workers removed water and swept off dirt from Ras Al Hadd road.
Muscat Municipality completed the removal of the rocks that had fallen from a mountain in the Dhabab area in Quriyat state, the maintenance of internal umbrellas in the Seeb market, as well as the suction of water pools from various locations. Municipal workers swept the streets and removed dust and waste, in addition to taking immediate and quick measures to open the roads closed by the valleys to ensure the flow of traffic.
Dhank Municipality also completed its field work to clean and open the roads in the state.
The Department of Civil Defence and Ambulance in Al Batinah North continued the process of removing water from citizens’ homes that were affected by rain in the area of Harmul and Liwa.
