Oman Cricket: RAHRC, Classic, Challengers, Blasters win

Muscat: RAHRC overcame superb all-round effort from Krishor Krishnan to defeat Mustafa Sultan Enterprises (MSE) by 19 runs in a pulsating F Division clash at Muscat Municipality Ground IV in Al Amerat on Friday.
Asked to bat first, RAHRC were dismissed for 161 in the 19th over as Krishor struck three vital blows to slow down their march towards a big total. Captain Abdullah Alam and Hillary D’souza bagged two wickets each. Naheem Pasha (53 off 36) and Ajithkumar Krishna (26 off 17) were the main scorers for RAHRC.
Reeling at 42 for five, MSE were down in the dumps before Krishor’s heroic knock (63 off 42) brought them closer to an improbable victory. After his fall at 129 for eight, MSE folded up quickly 142. Captain Nandkumar Jadhav bowled well to claim four wickets while Karthik Rajappa took two.
Brief scores: RAHRC 161 all out in 18.5 overs (Naheem Pasha 53, Ajithkumar Krishna 26; Krishor Krishnan 3/31, Abdullah Alam 2/22, Hillary D’souza 2/30) bt MSE 142 all out in 19.1 overs (Krishor Krishnan 63, Nandkumar Jadhav 4/15, Karthik Rajappa 2/19).
Matiullah stars for Classic
A magnificent four-wicket spell by Matiullah helped Classic CT thrash Hussain Fadhil and Partners (HFP) by nine wickets in a G Division match at Muscat Municipality Ground IV.
HFP won the toss but little else, getting bowled out for a paltry 46 in the 11th over due largely to excellent bowling by Matiullah who gave away just eight runs while taking four wickets in his three overs. Abdul Latheef bagged three wickets to lend him great support from the other end.
It took Classic CT less than five overs to overhaul the total, scoring 51 for one. Awais Abu contributed an unbeaten 27 off 18 balls.
Brief scores: HFP 46 all out in 10.3 overs (Matiullah 4/8, Abdul Latheef 3/26) lost to Classic CT 51 for 1 in 4.4 overs (Awais Abu 27).
Challengers down BOC
FHD Crazy Challengers registered a huge 121-run win over Bosher Olympic Center (BOC) thanks to a brilliant all-round show by Fahad Hamsa in an H Division game at OAC Ground III in Al Seeb.
The Challengers posted a huge total of 224 for six thanks to superb batting by Hamsa (46 off 26), Dipu Ramachandran (46 off 30), Tarun Bhaskaran (43 off 24) and Praveen Shetty (26 not out off 11). Tanuj Sivakumar claimed three wickets for BOC.
BOC crumbled under the pressure of chasing a huge total and crawled to a meagre 103 for six in 20 overs. Skipper Saif Shamsuddin top-scored with run-a-ball 29. Hamsa was impressive with the ball too, claiming two wickets for just 13 runs while Prem Anand also bagged two.
Brief scores: FHD Crazy Challengers 224 for 6 in 20 overs (Fahad Hamsa 46, Dipu Ramachandran 46, Tarun Bhaskaran 43, Praveen Shetty 26 n.o.; Tanuj Sivakumar 3/33) bt BOC 103 for 6 in 20 overs (Saif Shamsuddin 29; Hamsa 2/13, Prem Anand 2/13).
