Petroleum Development Oman launches ICV awards

Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) will launch its In–Country Value (ICV) Awards on Monday to celebrate businesses and organisations, which have gone the extra mile to support Omani economic development.
The launch coincides with the fourth anniversary of the launch of the ICV Blueprint Strategy 2013-2020 which aims to develop a competitive and sustainable local supply market for the oil and gas industry and Omani skills, said a company release.
The PDO competition covers a range of ICV areas, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Local Community Contractors (LCCs), vendors and training institutes, and National Objectives which is focused on the creations of job, training and redeployment opportunities for Omani jobseekers. Entrants have to be registered with PDO to enter.
“For many years, PDO has championed ICV as a means of retaining more of the wealth of the oil and gas industry in Oman by establishing strong local supply chains, developing Omani skills, generating meaningful employment and supporting the communities in which we operate,” said PDO Managing Director Raoul Restucci.
“We have worked tirelessly to embed ICV in our own business and contractor community and are currently leading on the implementation of 43 of the 53 business opportunities identified in the ICV Blueprint Strategy document four years ago.”
“We have made some fantastic progress and are now ramping up our commitment by moving into non-oil sectors and supporting the Government on its excellent Tanfeedh initiative to support economic diversification,” added Restucci.
“This competition is a great opportunity to recognise and reward all those valued partners who have worked so hard to help us on this journey and I am sure there will be some very strong entries across the board.”
The PDO ICV Awards consist of six categories - best training institute, best national objectives employer, high-performing SMEs, high-performing LCCs, best contractor/vendor in social investment projects and best contractor/vendor in ICV delivery (against their ICV plan). Award forms are available on the company’s website www.pdo.co.om and the submission deadline is 25 January, 2018.
