Nine arrested for entering Sultanate illegally

Muscat: Nine people were arrested in the wilayats of Shinas and Suwaiq for entering the Sultanate illegally, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said. Five boats were also sezied.
The infiltrators were of Asian nationality and they were arrested in Shinas and Suwaiq, according to ROP.
The boats were seized and the infiltrators were detained for investigation.
364 deported in November
More than 300 infiltrators were also deported last month, the ROP announced.
In a statement, the ROP said, "In November, military and security forces arrested 202 infiltrators and deported 364 of different nationalities in various governorates of the Sultanate, for entering the country illegally. The infiltrators were deported after taking necessary legal action and coordinating with their respective embassies."
The ROP called on the general public to cooperate and help police to combat this phenomenon by immediately reporting these cases either by calling 9999 or by going to the nearest police station.
