Oman committed to women’s growth: Aisha

Cairo: Sheikha Aisha bint Khalfan bin Jameel Al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries chaired the Sultanate’s delegation taking part at the eighth meeting of the current session of the Supreme Council for Arab Woman Organisation 2017-2019. The meeting was held in Cairo on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Sultanate.
While delivering her speech at the opening of the meeting, Sheikha Aisha, the chairperson of the current session of meeting of the Supreme Council for Arab Woman Organsation 2017/2019 conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for the organisation, its bodies and Arab woman everywhere and his wishes for success for the meeting and the Arab Woman Organisation in supporting and empowering the
Arab woman.
She affirmed that the Sultanate’s chairmanship of the current session will enhance the initiatives taken to enhance the contribution of the Arab woman especially member countries that seek to ensure equal opportunities for man and woman.
The meeting included a documentary on the status of the Omani woman, her contribution to the development, the achievements she has made and the governmental efforts to enhance woman involvement at the various
aspects of life.
The Supreme Council for Arab Woman Organisation approved the Sultanate’s hosting of the general assembly meeting, which is held every two years.
It should be noted that the Sultanate, in cooperation with a number of organisations and entities such as the Arab Woman Organisation, implements a number of joint initiatives that aim at enhancing woman empowerment at the different fields of development. — ONA
