Muscat: A number of municipal violations in public places were recorded and individuals fined, municipal authorities in the Sultanate's capital have announced, after they were found barbecuing on the lawns of a park.
A follow-up team that looks for violations such as tampering of public utilities, in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police, has "controlled and fined a number of individuals in Bausher and Ghubrah Lake Park," Muscat Municipality said on their Twitter account.
According to the municipal statement, the violators were penalised because of the damage to the greenery caused by barbecuing and indiscriminate disposal of waste.
