Oman is the third best Arab country for start-ups

Washington: The Sultanate is ranked third at the Arab level and 33rd at the world level in the 2018 Entrepreneurship Index, issued by the Washington- - based Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (GEDI).
The US topped the index comprising 137 countries, followed by Switzerland, Canada, Britain and Australia, respectively.
The index aims to measure the quality and volume of entrepreneurship projects in the targeted economies. The index also provides deep understanding for entrepreneurship through evaluation of the capabilities, entrepreneurship and commercial aspirations.
The GEDI report reaffirmed that entrepreneurship is vital for economic growth and without projects and entrepreneurs, there would not be much creativity. It would also decrease productivity and job opportunities.
