Flying to Pakistan? This will make it easier for you

Muscat: Pakistan-based Shaheen Air will launch a weekly flight from Muscat to Multan, the ancient spiritual city of Sufis and Saints, starting Friday.
Pakistani expatriates in Oman, a large community, will now be able to fly non-stop to the country’s fifth most populated city Multan, which is also the premier centre for southern Punjab province as Shaheen Air International launches its maiden weekly flight.
“Shaheen Air is looking to expand its operations in Oman as part of its growth strategy outlined for the Sultanate,” said Huzaifa Halai, Manager Oman, Shaheen Air.
The airline has also enhanced its frequency to Islamabad from two to three flights a week effective November 26, 2017. Flights from Muscat to Islamabad will now operate every Sunday, Tuesday and Fridays.
Having started its operations in 1993 as the first private airline in Pakistan, Shaheen Air currently operates flights to more than 12 international destinations.
The new flight NL679 will depart from Muscat every Friday at 3:15 am and arrive at Multan at 7:00 am, lt will leave Multan every Friday at 8:00 am and arrive in Muscat at 10:00 am. The arrival time in Multan makes it very convenient for passengers who need to travel by road to the interior cities.
“There is an overwhelming demand for travel between Oman and Pakistan due to the existence of strong relations between the two countries.
The maiden flight to Multan from Muscat will mark a significant milestone for enhancing such ties and also benefit the Pakistani diaspora residing in Oman,” said Halai.
“Expanding operations on the Oman-Pakistan route is in line with Shaheen Air’s growth strategy outlined for Oman,” he added.
The airline will be the first to operate this route with an Airbus A319.
With the launch of the new flight, Shaheen Air will have a total of ten flights weekly between Muscat and Pakistan. This includes four flights to Lahore, three to Islamabad and one weekly flight to Sialkot and Peshawar, respectively.
