State Council sends draft budget to extended panel

Muscat: The draft general budget for the fiscal year 2018 has been referred by the the State Council Office to the extended committee composed of the Economic Committee and the heads of the Standing Committees of the Council after receiving the draft budget from Majlis Al Shura, along with its recommendations in accordance with the Basic Law of the State.
Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council opened on Wednesday the first meeting of the State Council Office of the 3rd annual sitting of the 6th term with congratulations to the members on the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birthday (PBH).
The State Council Office discussed the proposal submitted by the Economic Committee on the establishment of free zones in the Governorates of Al Buraimi and Musandam.
The Office hosted the Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy, Head of the Economic Committee, and Eng. Rahma bint Hamad Al Mushrafiyeh, Rapporteur of the Committee to discuss the proposal.
The meeting reviewed the letter received from the Council of Ministers on the Council’s proposal to raise the awareness of the society about the importance of early medical examination.
The Council of Ministers praised the opinions and ideas contained in the report which contribute to the community’s awareness of the importance of early medical examination and its role in the prevention of diseases, especially genetic, which will have a positive impact on public health and health security, in addition to the positive impact on the lives of families and the future of future generations.
The meeting discussed the evaluation of the first regular session of the third annual sitting of the sixth term of the Council, held last Tuesday, as well as the agenda items for the second regular session of the third annual sitting of the sixth term.
The meeting set out the agenda of the joint meeting with Majlis Al Shura Office, scheduled for Monday, December 11th, 2017.
The meeting reviewed a follow-up report on the implementation of the decisions taken at the previous meeting and a follow-up report on the activities of the Committees between the two meetings.
