Britain's Prince Harry and U.S. actress Meghan Markle announced on Monday they were getting married next year, saying their relationship had blossomed "incredibly quickly" after meeting on a blind date.
BRITAIN'S PRINCE HARRY, SAYING: The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned, everything was just perfect. This beautiful woman just tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life."
Britain's Prince Harry and his fiancée - U.S. actor Meghan Markle have sat down for their first official interview as a couple.
The pair announced their engagement earlier on Monday (November 27) and explained the proposal came during a, quote, "typical night" at their Kensington Palace cottage several weeks ago.
BRITAIN'S PRINCE HARRY AND U.S. ACTRESS MEGHAN MARKLE, SAYING: Meghan Markle: Just a cozy night, it was - what we were doing just roasting chicken and having ... Prince Harry: Roasting a chicken, trying to roast a chicken. Meghan Markle: Trying to roast a chicken and it just - just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee. The news was announced in a statement from Harry's father, Prince Charles who said he was "delighted".
While the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have wished them "every happiness". The pair were set up by friends on a blind date in July 2016 Harry - who's 33 and fifth in line for the throne - confirmed the relationship months later in a rebuke to the media who he felt had been intruding into 36-year-old divorcee Markle's private life.
Harry is himself no stranger to appearing in the papers - having attracted a number of negative headlines in his youth.
But it appears the Prince, who previously served in the military and created the Invictus Games for wounded service personnel, is settling down. He says he designed the engagement ring, which includes two diamonds from the personal collection of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
The wedding will take place in Spring next year.
