Brand new OMR500,000 Liwa Park opens in North Batinah

Muscat: A brand new OMR500,000 park has been opened in the Wilayit of Liwa, North Batinah.
The park, developed by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, in cooperation with the Bridge Institution, was opened on Wednesday.
The Liwa Park is designed to have a variety of general facilities such as eight rest stations, 58 games equipment, and wide green areas and trees, among others.
It is spread over a project area of 66,000 square metres. The open places for entertainment activities stretches over some 60,000 square metres, including places for people with special needs and children. The green areas are spread over 11,000 square metres, while the special passage ways go up to 10,000 square metres.
The opening ceremony for the park was held under the auspices of Sheikh Muhana Al Lamki, manager of Bridges Institution, who noted that public projects, such as the park, reflected the concept of social responsibility.
Fahad Al Adi, executive manager of Bridges Instiution, said, “Our company is trying to affirm its commitment to social responsibility by opening two parks in Al Batinah.” He thanked Orpic and Sohar Aluminum for their financial support in the sustainable progress of the project.
