Commerce Minister chairs meet on Oman's urban planning

Muscat: Urban planning issues were discussed at a high-level meeting chaired by Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce on Wednesday.
The Steering Committee for Oman National Spatial Strategy, (ONSS) at the Supreme Council for Planning (SCP) yesterday held a meeting under the chair of Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Deputy Chairman of the SCP.
Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Qamshouie, Director of the ONSS Project and the consultant team made a presentation on the project, the timeframe for it and the executive status of the project.
ONSS aims at developing a comprehensive national vision for construction development and preparing construction development strategies for the various governorates in the Sultanate.
It also aims at proposing the various construction options and alternatives and study them in detail with the relevant public organisations, the municipal council, the societies and committee to ensure involving all sectors of the society in identifying and selecting the construction alternatives that best suit each
governorate.
