Bank Muscat, ITA, Visa join hands to highlight new trends in electronic payments

Muscat: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in association with the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments, hosted a seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Electronic Payments’ at the head office, attended by dignitaries and a large turn-out of key government, banking, technology and industry representatives.
Dr Eng Yaqoob Dur Mohammed Al Balushi, deputy CEO of Infrastructure and eServices at ITA, was the guest of honour at the event aimed at familiarising and sharing insights on the latest developments and technology linked to electronic payments shaping the future of customer experience.
Topics covered in the seminar by technology experts from Visa included e-commerce and growth in card acquiring business, innovation and latest development trends in electronic payments, the role of the regulatory ecosystem in driving cashless payments for a digital economy, and security perspective on the global payments landscape.
