Four arrested after duping, stealing from social media user in Oman

Muscat: A man who was lured to a place on the pretext of meeting a female after a social media hook-up was attacked and robbed of OMR1,000.
The Department of Criminal Investigation led by the police of Dakhiliyah province, in cooperation with Izki police station, arrested four people on charges of abuse, theft and looting.
An official source at the Royal Oman Police said: “One of the accused identified the victim through social media stating that he was a girl, and they agreed to meet late at night. However, the victim was surprised by the presence of four people who beat him and robbed him of OMR1,000.”
In a different case, the same defendants assaulted another victim by beating him, stealing his money and his mobile phone.
The accused used to stole charity funds from several mosques in Izki was arrested.
Building material

The Adam police arrested an Asian national with 434 illegal cigarettes boxes and 617 boxes full of tobacco.
Two citizens were arrested on charges of threatening a victim with a knife and robbing him in Muscat. “A complaint lodged with the Muttrah police station says one person was threatened and robbed of at knife point by two people. They were interrogated and found to be in possession of all the stolen goods,” officials from Royal Oman Police (ROP) stated.
They have been referred to the judiciary to complete the investigation.
