Murder, attempted murder, and terrorism.
A federal grand jury indicted Sayfullo Saipov on a raft of charges on Tuesday (November 21).
The Uzbek immigrant was shot and arrested after plowing a truck down a New York City bike lane on Halloween, killing eight people and injuring 12.
Five of the victims were tourists from Argentina on a visit to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their high school graduation.
Saipov told investigators he was inspired by watching ISIS propaganda videos on his phone and felt good about what he had done.
He was handed a murder count for each of the victims killed in the attack and an attempted murder count for each person injured, as well as charges of supporting terrorism and using a truck to kill people.
Saipov faces a possible death sentence although experts say Donald Trump's tweets could complicate the matter.
Trump had publicly called for Saipov's execution before he had a chance to enter a plea.
Some say his defense lawyers could argue that the tweets may have prejudiced jurors against Saipov before trial even began.
