Minister of Regional Municipalities lays foundation stones of three development projects in Sur

Sur: Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Shihi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources on Monday laid the foundation stones of three development projects in the Wilayat of Sur.

This move coincides with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 47th Glorious National Day and is in line with the Ministry’s target of developing and upgrading municipal and water services in different governorates in the Sultanate.

The projects include rehabilitation of unloading site for farmers, development and beautification of the marine façade in Al Aija, as well as beautification of the market.

The Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources also visited Oman India Fertiliser Company’s factory. He met with the company’s management to view details of beautification project for Sur Market funded by the company.



Present at the visit were Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Ghareebi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Regional Municipalities Affairs among others, Sheikh Musallam bin Said Al Mahrouqi, Wali of Sur, Eng. Mohammed bin Saif Al Amri, Director General of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in the Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah and specialists.
