National Detergent launches 'Clean Oman' campaign in Sur

Muscat: After a successful campaign in Muscat governorate, National Detergent Company (NDC) has launched its 'Clean Oman’ initiative for Omani school students in Sur.
The NDC team has been visiting schools and addressing students from grades V to VII about the importance of staying healthy at home and school. As part of the campaign, they are also talking about initiatives to make Oman cleaner.
Supported by the Ministry of Education, the ‘Clean Oman’ campaign reached out to over 40,000 students in the Muscat governorate.
After the briefing in each school in Sur, NDC team will hand over samples of its premier product – Bahar – to the students. The students also get a chance to win smartphones and tablets by sketching their favourite Bahar products and posting them on NDC’s Facebook page. In the coming days, NDC team will be visiting more schools in Sur.
Speaking about the ‘Clean Oman’ campaign, Anish Kumar, head of Marketing and Regional Sales, NDC said, “We were overwhelmed by the response we received for this campaign in the Muscat governorate. We wholeheartedly thank Ministry of Education for their support to this initiative. The objective of this campaign is to educate students in Omani schools on the importance of healthy habits to make Oman clean. We believe that by educating the students, we are investing in Oman’s future. The initiative is in line with NDC’s corporate social responsibility strategy that focuses on three main elements - the environment, human capital and community.”
“After Sur, we will take this campaign to Batinah region, and in the future, we will take it across other parts of Sultanate. NDC is extremely proud to play a key role in creating environmental awareness through its various CSR initiatives. In line with our vision to become an environment-friendly company, we support campaigns that protect the environment, and help to achieve sustainable development in the Sultanate,” he added.
As a responsible corporate citizen of Oman, NDC has been involved in various social initiatives like using Omani transporters for its logistics activities and giving preference to use the services of Omani nationals at every possible step.
With an aim to encourage a forum that seeks to promote opportunities and enhance knowledge in engineering, NDC supported an exhibition organised by Industrial Engineering Society at Sultan Qaboos University earlier this year.
The company encourages local talent and motivates them to become self-employed by giving training and jobs directly or indirectly related to the detergent industry.
