Here’s where you can catch the National Day fireworks in Oman

Muscat: If you're looking forward to the National Day fireworks this evening, there are three places to catch them in Oman.
Two of the scheduled fireworks displays for the 47th National Day are in Muscat, with the third down south in Salalah.
The shows are scheduled for November 18 at 8:00pm in the wilayats of Al Amerat, Al Seeb and Dhofar.
The fireworks in Al Amerat will be organised at the Al Amerat Heights, in Al Seeb at Wadi Al Khoudh and at the Municipal Entertainment Centre in Dhofar.
If you live in the vicinity of these three regions, it would be best to get onto the roof of your building, deckchair or mat in hand, and take in the sights and sounds of the firework display.
If you don't live in the area, though, and still wish to watch the display, Times of Oman recommends you travel well in advance, and watch out for celebrating pedestrians: the country is expected to be out in force, with residents' cars decorated to celebrate National Day, as they excitedly wave the Omani flag in celebration.
One of the best places to watch the fireworks could be from the Mountain Road, which links Amerat to Ghala, Boushar and Seeb. However, be advised that there will be many who will also attempt to park their cars on the slope, in an attempt to enjoy the fireworks, with some of the more adventurous residents event making the climb onto the mountain for the best possible view, so caution is advised.
If you live in Salalah and are looking for the perfect setting, the neighbourhoods of Salalah Al Gharbiyah and Al Haffa are ideal spots to take your family and friends. The parks in these two areas provide an excellent ambience for residents to take in the fireworks.
Closer still, though, would be the parks in East Salalah and Al Hasilah, which ensures residents are close to the action, but not too close either.
As always, Times of Oman wishes all its readers and residents in the Sultanate of Oman a very happy 47th National Day, and advises caution on the roads, with heavy traffic expected as people celebrate this most significant of occasions.
