Oil minister leads Oman’s delegation to ADIPEC

Muscat: Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, led an Omani delegation at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) this week.
ADIPEC is the premier global meeting point for the oil and gas industry, bringing together the most senior decision makers from government, national oil companies, and international oil companies, to discuss the most pressing issues facing their business.
The minister spoke as part of a series of ministerial panel discussions during the four-day event. Experts from Oman are also sharing professional knowledge and experience during ADIPEC’s highly regarded technical and strategic conference programme.
ADIPEC is long-established as an essential gathering for the oil and gas industry’s most influential decision makers, many of whom share their knowledge in the strategic and VIP conference programmes. The 2017 edition is expected to attract more than 100,000 trade visitors and more than 10,000 conference delegates, with in excess of 2,200 exhibiting companies. There are more than 185 separate conference sessions across VIP, strategic and technical programmes.
Dr. Al Rumhy joins distinguished speakers from both government and industry, including Mohammed Barkindo, Secretary General of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec), and government ministers from the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, Mexico, and Bahrain. They are joined by CEOs from major national oil companies (NOCs), international oil companies (IOCs) and leading oilfield services firms, as well as top industry experts.
Also from Oman, Ali Al Gheithy, Petroleum Engineering Function Director at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is among the speakers for a series of executive dialogues as part of the VIP programme, as well in a technical panel discussion of how the oil and gas industry can capitilise on the use of data. Khalid Al Massan, CEO, Oman LNG Development, and Mohammed Ghareebi, an ‘in-country value champion’ at PDO joins a discussion on developing and sustaining in-country value, while Intisaar Kindy, Exploration Director at PDO, is speaking during sessions dedicated to the achievements of women in energy.
In addition to the four ministerial sessions, ADIPEC’s strategic conference programme includes four global business leader sessions, offering panel discussions and interviews with some of the senior government and industry decision makers who are shaping the future of oil and gas. An additional four downstream global business leader sessions focus exclusively on value-added processes, as part of a landmark expansion to include the downstream oil and gas industry as part of ADIPEC for the first time.
Specialised sessions within the conference programme focus on areas such as security, the offshore and marine sector, and the role of women in the energy industry. For C-level delegates, there are nine C-suite dialogues, offering highly exclusive, interactive panel discussions of critical business issues as part of the VIP programme. As well as the strategic conference, ADIPEC offers oil and gas professionals 119 technical sessions catering to all aspects of the industry.
The conference programme sits alongside a world-class commercial exhibition and offers unrivalled one-to-one business networking opportunities, confirming ADIPEC as a deal-making hub, forging business partnerships that will be the foundation of growth.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and organised by the Global Energy division of dmg events, ADIPEC is one of the world’s leading oil and gas events, and the largest in Africa and the Middle East. ADIPEC is being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 November 2017.
