Here is how Oman and Ireland are upgrading trade and technology ties

Muscat: Oman Technology Fund on Tuesday signed three agreements with Irish companies in the field of technology and support for emerging companies as part of the visit of Frances Mary Fitzgerald, Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, to the Sultanate.
Eng. Yousef Al Harthy, CEO of Oman Technology Fund, signed the first agreement with Irish Ahead Association, under which the Fund will receive training and knowledge exchange programmes in the technical field.
Ismail Al Harthy, Executive Director of the JAWSOUR programme, signed the second agreement with the Irish Ahead Association to benefit from their experiences in the areas of training and technical education in the health sector.
Maha Al Balushiya, Executive Director of the Fund's Training Programme, signed the third agreement with National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) to share experiences, incubation and training of startups.
Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, a number of undersecretaries and officials at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry sponsored the signing ceremony.
Hailed
The Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation stressed the importance of building cooperation relations with the Sultanate, especially in the field of software, financial transfers and information technology.
She said that she is happy to work with the Sultanate's government represented by the Oman Fund for Technology adding that the two countries have many things in common, such as nurturing enterprises, SMEs and creating job opportunities for their nationals.
As for the future projects between the two countries, she said that the meeting with the Minister of Commerce and Industry focused on three areas through which both sides can share information and impart skills to the companies in the Sultanate.
She noted that currently there is a lot of cooperation between the two countries. especially in areas, such as information technology, robots and industrial intelligence.
Earlier on her arrival, she was received at Muscat International Airport by Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and a number of officials at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
