Oman State Council sessions to focus on economic issues, says its Secretary General

Muscat: Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saeedi, Secretary General of the Council of Oman has said that the economic issues will have the big share in the deliberations of the State Council during this period.
He added in a statement that the sessions will focus on the areas that support the government’s efforts to alleviate the implications of the economic crisis facing the whole world.
On his part, Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of Majlis Al Shura said that the first regular session of the third annual sitting comes in response to the Royal orders of His Majesty the Sultan as per the provision of article 58 Bis 29 of the Basic Law of the State.
He pointed out that during the regular session, six members complete the membership of Majlis Al Shura Office, as per the provision of article No. 48 of Majlis Al Shura Internal Regulation.
He added that nomination for the chairman, deputy chairman and heads of the committees will be open independently as per the provision of article 55 of the Internal Regulation.
He also noted that during tomorrow’s session, Majlis Al Shura will discuss a number of issues including the draft state budget for the fiscal year 2018, the draft of the Commercial Companies Law and the draft agreements referred to Majlis Al Shura.
