Oman Majlis Al Shura office meeting discusses names of standing committee office bearers

Muscat: Majlis Al Shura’s Office held its first periodic meeting of the third annual sitting (2017-2018) of the 8th term 2015-2018 to discuss the lists of candidates for the chairmanship of the committees and the deputy-chairpersons of the Standing Committees of the Majlis.

The panels include the Legislative and Legal Committee, the Economic and Financial Committee, the Health and Environment Committee, Education and Scientific Research Committee, Services and Social Development Committee, Youth and Human Resources Committee, Food and Water Security Committee and Media and Culture Committee.

Majlis Al Shura’s Office is responsible for setting up a plan for the Majlis Al Shura’s activities and assisting its committees in establishing the rules governing their work and coordinating their activities according to the internal provisions of Majlis Al Shura.

It also supervises the activity of Majlis Al Shura and its committees and assisting the members of Majlis Al Shura in carrying out their responsibilities. It follows up the work of the committees and their reports, in addition to setting up the agenda of the meetings, taking into account the issues referred to it by His Majesty the Sultan, the draft laws submitted by the Government, which have been completed by the relevant committees, as well as current issues, and others.
