Here's what you can expect at the upcoming Mall of Muscat

Muscat: Developers Al Jarwani and Tamani Global for Development and Investment have announced that their upcoming new mall in Maabela has been rebranded, from Palm Mall to Mall of Muscat.
At an agreement signing ceremony at Sundus Rotana Hotel, Al Jarwani Group and Tamani Global for Development & Investment announced the re-branding of Palm Mall to Mall of Muscat and alongside new partners, unveiled the future of the development.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed Bin Salem Al Tobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affair, the event highlighted the commitment of the developers to the growth of Oman’s economy and tourism through the creation of more than 5,000 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs, unique attractions and entertainment facilities, which will raise the standard of shopping malls in the Sultanate.
A video presentation walkthrough followed the rebranding announcement, highlighting the main features of Mall of Muscat such as Oman Aquarium, a Snow Park and the diversity of brands that will be available within Mall of Muscat, some of which for the first time in the Sultanate.
The signing ceremony began with the signing of a syndication agreement with number of banks for the Plaza and extension of the mall due to the demand for more leasing spaces within the mall. The first agreement was signed with Ahli Bank, followed by United Ahli Bank and Bank Nizwa.
This was followed by the confirmation that Al Shaya Group will be bringing 23 brands to Mall of Muscat, occupying a total area of approximately 11,000 sqm. Some of these brands will be available for the first time in the Sultanate such as PF Chang, Debenhams, Pottery Barn & Pottery Barn Kids, Muji and West Elm.
Lulu Group also signed on and confirmed they will be opening the biggest Lulu Hypermarket in Oman, with a total area of approximately 22,000 sqm, within Mall of Muscat.
Al Othaim Group from KSA announced the introduction of their family entertainment concept Faby Land to Oman for the first time. Faby Land will spread on a total area of 7,500 sqm and offering an array of the latest amusement rides, attractions and games. Extreme Zone concept by Al Othaim will also offer a unique experience to the adventurous youth of Oman.
Omantel has also played a role in providing Mall of Muscat with the infrastructure required to provide connectivity to tenants and customers of the mall. With the aim to deliver the best support and service to all tents and partners, all telecommunication services' providers can also provide their services within the laid infrastructure.
The ever popular Landmark Group has also signed up with 3 brands, occupying an impressive total area of 5,420 sqm.
His Excellency Mohammed Bin Salem Al Tobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, said, “Such projects will positively contribute towards the development of Oman’s economy. They will also support the expansion in developing more leisure and hospitality projects. The launch of Mall of Muscat and its associate attractions Oman Aquarium and the Snow Park is a very significant step towards taking the tourism industry in Oman to a new level. These innovative initiatives will definitely help creating more job opportunities to the Omani youth.”

Mall of Muscat is located in Mabellah and conveniently situated between the Muscat Expressway and Highway 1. It will contain the much anticipated Oman Aquarium (the largest aquarium in the Middle East at 8,000 sqm) which promises to deliver fun and excitement alongside education and conservation projects; an enormous Snow Park brilliantly designed over an area of 5,600 sqm will appeal to all ages; a dedicated outdoor dining ‘street’ and in excess of 200 shops offering shoppers specialised international brands that will only be available within Mall of Muscat.
The mall is on track to open in the last quarter of 2018.
