Oman tennis: Fatma Al Nabhani fails to advance in Pune Open

Muscat: Playing two matches on the same day took a toll on Fatma Al Nabhani as the Omani star’s challenge ended in defeats in the ongoing $25,000 ITF Pro Circuit Pune Open in India on Wednesday.
In the morning session, Fatma found the going tough in her singles second round match sixth-seeded Ana Veselinovic of Montenegro.
Though the Omani girl put up a good fight, she could not stop Ana Veselinovic from winning the match in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
Later in the afternoon session, Fatma and her Khazakhstan partner Ksenia Palkina were dominant in their doubles quarterfinal match against Berfu Eengiz of Turkey and Karin Kennel of Switzerland.
But the duo squandered the advantage of winning the first set and let Berfu Eengiz and Karin Kennel fight back for a 0-6, 7-4, 10-7 win.
