Government Competencies Programme launched in Oman by Civil Services Ministry

Muscat: As part of the Ministry of Civil Service’s efforts to enhance and develop the skills and capabilities of the administrative staff, the “Government Competencies” programme was launched on Wednesday.
This is the second edition of the programme and is being organised by the Ministry in cooperation with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) and a private sector institution.
It is fully funded by a number of private sector institutions.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Zahir Al Hinai, State Advisor, sponsored the launching of the programme.
The Government Competencies Programme is one of the important administrative programmes that deals with human resources development as it is the top priority in the planning process.
It includes 42 participants from the directors general category and their equivalents in various units of the administrative apparatus of the State.
It will be implemented during the period from November to April 2018, four training days per month.
The programme will be implemented in cooperation with the IPA and Competency HR Company with the support of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and sponsored by a number of leading institutions in the Sultanate.
The implementation of these programmes comes within the framework of the Ministry efforts to enhance and develop the skills and capabilities of the administrative staff of the State in all fields in order to provide them with more functional skills to improve employee performance and improve institutional performance.
The inauguration was attended by a number of ministers, undersecretaries and officials from various units of the administrative apparatus of the State.
