Meethaq redefines mobile banking service with state-of-the-art application

Muscat: Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, has redefined mobile banking services with a state-of-the-art application.
The all-new app from Meethaq is packed with the latest features that simplify ‘24/7 anytime, anywhere’ Islamic banking service. The smart mobile app, which is quick and easy to download, provides a secure and convenient 24/7 access to the account.
The new app has over 20 new and improved features such as iWatch, eCommerce and autopay facility. The innovative new features include tap and pay, eCommerce, scheduling of transfers and payments, email statement and real-time credit card payment.
With the new app, Meethaq has made banking truly mobile, secure and convenient for Islamic banking customers who can now bank ‘24/7 anytime, anywhere’. Notably, the Meethaq app works on all mobile phones and is customised for iPhones, BlackBerry, Android and Java-based phones with simple icons and menus. The app is available in both English and Arabic. Downloading and using the Meethaq app is easy and instant as no separate registration or filling of form is required for existing mobile banking customers of the bank. However, new customers require Meethaq Islamic debit card number and PIN to do instant registration. Customers can download the app from Google Play and Apple Store.

The Meethaq mobile banking facility can be utilised to check accounts, transfer funds and pay utility bills. The facility for scanning bills is a new feature. In keeping with the Islamic tenets, the app facilitates Zakat and Sadaqah payment. The Zakat reminder is a new feature. The prayer timing is an improved feature as also the masjid, ATM and branch locators.

Robust security features have been built into the mobile application. Data exchange from the application is encrypted based on best industry standards and dual factor authentication.
