Blood donation drive at State Council receives good response

Muscat: In line with its social responsibility programme, the State Council held today a blood donation campaign at its premises in coordination with the Ministry of Health - Department of Blood Services.

The event was attended by Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saidi, Secretary General of the council; Khalid bin Juma Al Hashmi, Assistant Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and a number assistant secretaries, department directors, department heads and council staff.

Khalid bin Juma Al Hashmi, attending the campaign said that the organisation of this campaign comes from the council's perception of its social role and its humanitarian duty by donating healthy blood for eventual use for saving lives.

He praised the response of the council to this humanitarian objective of giving back to society in a meaningful manner.



Khalid bin Juma Al Hashmi extended his appreciation to Ministry of Health for providing the technical support and advice and the opportunity to join hands in the noble cause.

He added, the campaign also raised awareness about blood donation as a healthy exercise and encouraged our employees to donate blood on a regular basis.

The participants extended their assurance to support similar events in future, to help the nation achieve a sustainable healthy society.
