Dhofar Governor sponsors workshop on autism in Salalah

Salalah: A workshop on "Strategy for Dealing with Autism Spectrum Children", organised by the Ministry of Health represented by the Mental Health Section of the Non-Communicable Diseases Department opened at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Salalah on Wednesday and will last for two days.

The workshop was sponsored by Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, who honoured the speakers and participants in the workshop.

The workshop aims to raise awareness of the concepts and strategies used in the education and rehabilitation of the autism spectrum disorder.

130 specialists in behavioural medicine, autistic parents of autism children, psychologists working in health institutions in the Governorate of Dhofar, as well as experts and specialists from the May Institute for Autism in the United States.
